Gaijin started with a genuine curiosity about food and the cultures surrounding it. What began as an interest in Japanese cooking became years of learning, experimenting, and developing a particular fascination with yakitori and charcoal grilling.
Gaijin was created to share that same sense of discovery with other people. Today, we bring our cooking to gatherings throughout New Jersey, creating experiences centered around good food, hospitality, and the simple pleasure of sharing a meal.
What drew us in was the simplicity of it: good ingredients, careful preparation, charcoal, and repetition. There was always something more to learn.
Gaijin is still built on the same thing that started it: curiosity, craft, and a desire to keep getting better.
